Midsummer's Day 21/6/06

Got to Ediburgh just in time for summer solstice (longest day of the year) so thought we'd do something summery. Went to the local beach at the Firth of Forth (say that 3 times fast). Rugged up in our scarves, gloves and jackets, we wandered along the pretty yet blustering waterfront, only to decide that we would make better use of midsummer's day snuggled up in a cosy pub. The day was very long though, with the last bit of sunlight shining at around midnight and rising again around 2am. I am still convinced it never quite got dark!
