14/4/06 Leaving London in style

Hired a car from a cheap car rental at Heathrow to head off for the Easter weekend (we learned from our last experience not to attempt driving through London) and it turned out there was a mix-up with the 2 door economy car we booked, so we ended up with a Renault convertable sports car for the same price. Not normally impressed with the concept of really expensive cars, I found my attitude changing a bit when I hopped behind the wheel. We put the top down (by the push of the button), and the heater on full blast, donned sunglasses and several layers of warm clothing, turned up the radio, and cruised down the English coastline to Devon in style. Still wouldn't fork out the money for a $65 000 car, but certainly won't complain about having to hire one.
