13/5 First evening in Venice

Arrived in Venice around 7pm, managed to navigate our way through the maze of canals to the B&B we booked into, dumped our stuff and headed out for a wander. Doesn't matter which way you go it's all beautiful, and it's all one big maze of canal fronts and meandering footpaths through pizzarias, wine bars, gift shops and gelati. Caught a beautiful sunset over the canal, ate pizza and gelati, and drank the wine before pulling out the map and painstakingly retracing our steps back to our room.

13/5/06 Going to Italy

After another week of sporadic work, night duty, drinking and hangovers, we finally headed off (via stanstead) to Venice (or rather an airport that after a long busride you can eventually get to Venice - thanks Ryan air) The flight was pretty amazing. It took us right over the top of the Alps (Austrian I think). We literally sat glued to the window. I think Sara even forgot her fear of flying for a moment.

5/5/06 Another sunny day

Work kind of slacked off this week for Gem, constantly kept getting booked for shifts, then cancelled again. Was starting to get a bit down about it, until the sun came out again. Headed to battersea park, where the flowers were blooming, the birds were chirping and the sun was shining. Played footy, frisby and lounged in the sun, and realised that getting cancelled is not that bad after all.

22/4/06 Sunny Saturday

Quikly settled back into the London working week. So when Saturday arrived and the sun came out, we headed down to the fun-fair at the common. Went on a few rides, then tried to go to a pub, but it was way too nice outside. Ended up buying beers at the off-licence (bottle-o) and lounged in the park all afternoon.
